The Pies of the Season!

Thanksgiving is known for being THE food holiday. Turkey, stuffing, potatoes, maybe even a vegetable if there’s room left on the table. But we all can agree that we save the best for last. Whether you celebrate with a pumpkin, apple, or pecan pie (or all three), dessert is where Thanksgiving really shines. In honor of the holiday, we are giving you our very own Pie Crust recipe, as well as some tried and true filling recipes for the three classic Thanksgiving flavors. Check them out!

Making your own pie crust might seem daunting, especially when there are more options today for pre-made crusts than ever before. But trust us when we say that homemade is truly best. This recipe has been past down from generation to generation in Lauren’s family and is always a favorite. Sure, her grandmother used Crisco instead of coconut oil, but some generational changes are for the best. Give it a try, and you’ll see that a good crust is just as important as a good filling. Probably the most American staple, Apple Pie, holds a special place in our hearts and on the holiday table. This sweet treat is loved all year round, but especially on Thanksgiving. Not only is Apply Pie delicious, but it can be a perfect centerpiece, usually with a crumble topping or lattice crust top!

Before pumpkin spice lattes, there was the OG, Pumpkin Pie! It is definitely the flavor of the season. One of the easiest pies to make, and a fun twist on the usual fruit pies, Pumpkin Pie is the perfect addition to your dessert table. Best part is, it is basically a vegetable! So eat as much of it as you’d like!

Pecan Pie doesn’t always get the recognition it deserves. It really is a perfect Thanksgiving dessert. This gooey, sugary, nutty center is a perfect pair for whipped cream or ice cream (or both). Grab some while it’s hot since it probably will be a while until you see another Pecan Pie!

What kind of pie does your family share on Thanksgiving day? We’d love to hear about them!
