Work/School-From-Home Space

If you have a designated room in your home where you can close the door behind you and work in silence, you’re one of the lucky ones. If not, our best advice is to create separation wherever possible, both between individuals, as well as between work and home. Creating this distinction will help with focus as well as save time. It might seem like the best idea to set your child up for class at the kitchen counter because they’ll have space to sprawl out.  But eventually, you’ll need to clear away all their materials in order to prep dinner. Then in the morning, everything has to go back. Instead consider setting up a small desk space in the dining room, somewhere nearby in case they need assistance. As for you, its equally important to have a designated workspace because mixing work and play can get confusing for the psyche. This can be as simple as claiming an end of the dining table as your office. Add a desk lamp, picture frame, paperweight, and any other visual reminders that this is your work zone. Keep it organized, keep it clean, and keep it away from where you like to relax.
